Hi!
A few weeks after getting Teddy, I noticed a runny nose. I brang him to the vets after he declined and they gave me metacam (once a day) and baytril (twice a day) he got better, but his runny nose was still there. I brang him back and the vet said his lungs were clear and gave me sulfatrim to try and clear the runny nose. But it was still there, and it disappeared after a while.. I noticed I hadn’t let him on the grass for a while, or given him any. So yesterday, I put him on the grass and a minute after, he started sneezing and I saw he had a runny nose. Is he allergic to fresh grass? The vet did say that if it didn’t clear, that we’d have to look into allergies. Should I not give him any for a while to see if there’s a difference? I’m so worried. He’s okay in himself (popcorning, wheeking, eating, drinking and pooping). Is there such thing as a grass allergy in guinea pigs? I also do live in the countryside and there is lots of pollen around. Thank you!

I don’t know about that, never heard of them being allergic to guinea pigs 😳 Is it only when he’s outside on the grass?

No, once it comes, it doesn’t go away for a week or two. I stopped giving him grass for a while because it was messing with his stomach, I introduced it again yesterday and he sneezed and I saw a clear fluid coming out of his nose. It’s still coming out of his nose, but it’s not gushing. It’s so strange, but I know he doesn’t have a URI.
