Hello, I have got a 2 year old guinea pig named Rocky who has been alone all his whole life and I was very concerned about his wellbeing so I decided to purchase a new guinea pig Rey and I’m worried rocky won’t be able to socialise with Rey

what are your thoughts, is it going to be a problem rocky being alone his whole life?
It is quite a concern that Rocky has lived alone his whole life, I would suggest slowly introducing Rey into Rocky's habitat. It is highly suggested that guinea pigs should be paired with another from a young age or it could lead to some aggression, bullying or death in some cases. Rocky isn't used to being socialized with other guinea pigs, so as if introducing him into a new habitat, slowly introduce Ray through protection (so that's bars, transparent plastic etc.) between the two.

Wishing you luck x

Hi @ozzyandtrevorGP your info here isnt correct I'm afraid, and the guinea pigs have now been introduced and are living together.
Bullying and death? I wonder where you got that info? Guinea pigs can be bonded at any age if they like each other and the introductions are done carefully following our excellent forum bonding guide.
