Anyone have a suggestion for an anti inflammatory eye drop that doesn't contain steroids?
Thanks soo much
Lara

Yes, my guinea pig has extra bone growth in one of his eyes, he has always had a lot of health issues, we work very closely with our expert exotics vet and have for years. Our vet prescribed an eye drop for the inflammation this condition causes, the normal eye drops didn't help and since this is an ongoing condition, I was hoping to find an alternative to use when needed. We are in the US, thanks soo much.

I think there was someone else here whose pig has osseous dysplasia in the eye... can anyone remember who? They may have suggestions.

If your talking about extra bome growth within the eye this is a normal thing for piggies and is very common, had many with it and seen many too. It's called osseous choristoma or osseous metaplasia depending on what it looks like. New studies believe it may be linked to high vitamin c levels in the diet. It's harmless and should not be painful. Only occasionally I would assume it could block the drainage of the eye but never seen it do this. Have a look here to see if this is what I mean, if you scroll down the page you will see.
