I have heard about all your guinea pigs popcorning but.... i've never seen Fudge and Rainbow do it. 8... Am i a bad Guinea Pig Mum? :( My girls are 5 years old and they live in a 4ft hutch and always have exercise everyday! Even if it's raining, i bring them in for a run around. They always get their veggies and i always make sure they have food and water, plus they have LOADS of toys! What am i doing wrong? They have never popcorned! I feel so mean, my two girls have never had the chance to have a fun little jump like all yours have. I never even knew popcorning existed until recently, that's because they've never done it! I have 3 rabbits, and they are always binkying (massive jumps when they are happy. :) ) Am i just not good with Guinea Pigs? :( Please be honest! Thanks, Emma. xx

My guinea pigs are not popcorning much either, because they have the whole room to run around (mainly to and from food) and spend enough energy that way! The most I get is the occasional little jumps from Ceri or Telyn, or from a frustrated Llewelyn!

Young piggies and piggies living mainly in cages are more likely to popcorn.

I think popping is very much a thing certain piggies do, I say that because two out of three popcorn in my lot and they are all the same age...

One of my old sows never popcorned either the other two did but I don't think she could see the point in expending that much energy when there was food to be had.

When they are older they tend to just toss their heads instead of popcorning. Maybe you've seen that? But even then, it's probably a character thing. One of mine tends to do it more often than the other.

I feel like a terrible piggy mum at the moment, I rescued a little baby piggy (Bert) and after all this floor time and neutral ground and things, he just doesn't get on with my other 2 piggys. So I need to make him a cage in my room now...where I'm not sure. As I don't want to have to rehome him, going to see if I can get a little baby friend for him as well.

The only time I have seen Winston popcorn is when Bert was removed from the cage..

You're not a bad guinea-pig owner. I have 6 guinea-pigs and only 1 of them popcorns. Some just don't ever popcorn. The one of mine that does popcorn, Roy, is 5 and has only started doing it recently and I don't know why he's suddenly started popcorning because nothing's changed for him

My piggies only popcorn rarely and its usually when they have something new and exciting introduced to them. IE the snuggle sacks I put in their run yesterday...all the youngen's when mad popcorning.

Other than that, I only tend to see my lot popcorn in the spring when they can finally get in the run outside on the grass.
