Just put romeo my boar outside in his cage where he can see the girls and hear them and he is going mnad meeping and chewing bars trying to get to them, is he happy or is this tormenting him? I'm just trying to cheer him up. :(

from what I've read on here before, if he can smell the girls he will want at them. So, he is probably frustrated, as he can't get to them.
Hopefully someone who has been through this will have more advice.

Sounds like Romeo was frustrated and wanted them, has he got a buddy with him? My lone boar was like this with my girls so I moved him away. My two bonded boars are ok in the same shed as the girls although they cannot see one another!

No he on his own... dont know if you remember my story but romeo was bought as a female to live with my girls... I had to separate them as all girls preggy now...
I just phoned two vets to get him nutered and I'm waiting to hear back from them.
I plan to get him nutered and then either put back with his girls or live with his sons.... suggestions?
 
That's how Cuzzy is with us, he was seperated because he fought with Sunshine and all Sunshine was trying to do was protect him from Twinkle! Crazy boy! I would wait to see what your girls have (I remember your story now) :) if there are any boars which I'm sure there will be then maybe pair him up with one of them and he wouldn't need to be neutered. That's what I would do.

You could try and see how they get on. Depends how many really. I think a few on here have 3 boars bonded.
At least that way you wouldn't need him to have the op. :)

AWWW thats sweet just like me and Gilbert. he is always out and about when i am inn, he follows me about like a puppy.

anyway it will make him frustrated being close to the girls so its best to keep them away from eachother, good luck with bonding him with a friend O0
 
You could try with more than one boar, but usually one would work better. It's been known for 3 or more boars to be happy together. I couldn't achieve it but others have here. :)

My boars companion died, and I couldnt get him to accept another boar, so I had him neutered and put him in with the girls. They all adore him and he's really happy, but I wouldnt have put him through the op if he had accepted a boar. Definatley worth trying that first!
 
yeah dont get him neutered and then put him with his sons as thats not fair really O0
if he doesnt have any sons then id say neuter or get a baby boar to bond him with or neuter him and put him with all the other sows and his daughters but they will be crammed up unless theres lots of space O0 as 3 sows and a neutered boar plus all the babies ::) well its gonna be cramped isnt it ? I think some of the pregnant ones will have boars anyway O0
