I LOVE the 1st video...I sooooo wanna teach my pigs to do those tricks! Amazing.

can they really do that or is it a trick cos I can't imagine it! mine beg but they did it themselves I didn't teach them. Mine won't wee or poo in right place so how are you suposed to teach them to do circles??

There's a really simple method to actually getting them to turn in a circle. I've started to teach Picasso how to do a circle, it's taking time, but he's slowly getting the hang of it. I remember reading how to do it on youtube a long time ago, however I can't find the link to save my life, so here's a rough explanation.

Make sure you have a veggie treat, finely sliced- so that each piece is just nibble sized. Also, I'd really advise making it a food that your guinea pig can't resist- so they'll work that extra bit harder.

Start off by holding the treat just above their nose, and try to get your guinea pig to follow your hand- not in a circle yet, but in any direction. Make sure to put your patience hat on, as this could take a while, but once they can follow your hands for a distance then you're ready for the next stage.

Next, put a command to the trick (for circle- we've gone with 'circle'- but put a tone of voice to it as well and be sure to use the same tone of voice every time you say it), and then tell them 'circle' (or whatever you've in putted). Now that you've taught them to follow your hands, try making them follow your hands in a circle. Make sure to decide whether your circle is going to be anticlockwise, or clockwise- and stick with whatever decision you make. Make sure you praise them, and give them a treat for every complete circle they do. Also, make sure that you are clear and concise, tell them circle, make them follow your hand around in a circle- then praise and give them the veggie nibble.

Eventually, you should get to the point where you can put the treat at either the left, or right side of your guinea pig's face (whichever way you decided to go- anticlockwise, or clockwise)- say the magic word, and they'll do a circle for you. This could take some time, so be patient.

Enjoy! For any other tricks you could just adapt the method above. :)

Aww wow they are super vids! Certainly have perked up my mood for the day :(|)
The first one is awesome. My flatmate wanted my boys to do tricks, so I can show her it and leave her to it, if she has the time and patience!

And that second one made me gasp, holy moley that is one impressive leap of freedom!

Thank you muchly for sharing xx>>>

brilliant lol

Now, got any tricks so candy doesn't just hide when out lol! Don't want to take away any hidey's though as she will sneak out :))
