The first of 3 low pressure areas hit the South west/South/S Ireland/S Wales last night and we are already seeing how badly the coastal areas have/are being battered.

Next one is due thursday late afternoon through til friday morning and will bring less wind but more rain than today.

However the worst one will hit friday night/saturday morning and torrential rain and very strong winds are currently forecast, with even more coastal and inland flooding than we have seen so far.

Even inland on saturday the winds are currently forecast to be very strong with 60-70moph gusts so think back to 23rd December...or worse.

Please check Met office warnings to see if you are in the amber zone and be prepared with torches etc as already 15000 homes are without power in the south west.

Stay safe everyone

I'm wondering if this would pass on to Denmark. That almost always happens. But unlike me, and you live in the UK, please do stay safe, and don't be lazy with keeping an eye with you piggies.

Main road was flooded, cars flashing me whilst I made my way home, especially since I drive an mx5! Not great for driving through flooded roads, over the bonnet and all...welly boots tomorrow.

:bye:

5am saturday morning in Sussex:

Woken to Rain pouring in through flood doors, wind thrashing the trees in quite lengthy sustained gusts...just moved piggies to rear of house (out of falling range of Eucalyptus tree) and now doing a recce outside on the bins/car........Edit: back now having weighted bin lids and moved car to higher ground. Still can’t work out why EA rescinded the flood warning earlier tonight given the amount of rain currently falling

Please stay safe, and check your route if you are travelling later today.

I am not liking how this storm is shaping up – winds expected to be a lot worse later today!...........salvaging the rest of tonight’s sleep on the sofa bed downstairs...with accompanying fractious guinea pigs

More towels Matron please.....

Oh no...I really feel for our friends down south.

I see an awful lot of criticism for the EA in the press,I worry that not enough is being done for people.

Hope you manage to get some sleep.

Dreadful weather....drove to Coventry as my mother is ill, m6 was so bad, driving at 50-60mph, no overhead signs warning people. I thought I was going to end up in the central reservation at one point.

Not as bad on the return leg...but at least the overhead signs were on!

Back on the motorway tomorrow :help:
