Anger management needed for middle aged sow

Penny, Mags and Jazz have been living next to delectable Dave since our first failed bonding attempt in April. This being the season of goodwill, we decided to try bonding them together a final time. It started much better than the first attempt. Then we got to around half an hour in and Penny decided she didn't like the cut of Dave's jib while he was drinking from the bottle. Mags went over to investigate and it ended with all 3 sisters ganging up on the poor mite.

We separated them and put them back in their normal C&C. Mags wasn't happy. She chattered her teeth at Dave through the bars, then went to each of her sisters and repeatedly started arguments with them for probably 15 minutes afterwards. I picked her up to see why she was being grumpy and she chuntered angrily at me (that little face is still cute even when telling me off!). Eventually, she managed to express all of her indignation and anger - at herself for not ripping him to pieces immediately for daring to mount her, at her sisters for not rejecting him sooner and at the hoomans for thinking it was a good idea.

Delectable Dave will be going dating in the New Year to find himself an amenable sow or two. I haven't given up on finding a successor to 🌈 Dennis. The ladies are five years old in the next couple of months so I'd like to find them new friends before we start losing them to old age and incurable illnesses.
 
Oh Mags! I’m guessing she’s decided Dave isn’t a patch on her Dennis and he’s just a rude boy. Maybe a baby or very young sow that won’t challenge her sense of entitlement would be an idea. I just hope poor Dennis isn’t too scarred by this experience of grumpy sows!

Dennis was just happy to have company whereas Dave is too confident and the ladies want him to be at the bottom of the pecking order. The experience hasn't stopped Dave banging the bars this morning trying to get the ladies attention! A wifepig or two would certainly make his year :D

We probably need to take all of the piglets dating as we think Audrey is bothering Emmeline too much since losing Ruby a few months ago, even Taz gets fed up of having his mouth sniffed or being stalked by her.
