Anxious about watery eyes

One of my new boars has developed watery eyes - just 1 eye yesterday and today both seem watery. No other symptoms are evident but is drinking quite a bit. I have seen the normal milky eye secretion and quite a lot of grooming but they are watery in between. Since both are watery does this suggest an infection?
I have only had him since Monday so I have not handled him much yet. He is on bedding he is not used to (Megazorb) and having lots of hay from a source he is not used to. Thanks for any ideas.

megazorb is quite dusty - I would expect that it is from nosing in the bedding.

Try to wash out his eye with some saline (1 pt of boiled water, add 1 tsp of salt, stir and let cool).

Watery eyes can be caused by an injury - so it's possible that his eye got poked by the hay. Take a look at this site, it should help: http://www.guinealynx.info/eyes.html#discharge

That was a speedy reply from Wiebke the Wise. Your theory makes a lot of sense - I will make up some saline solution and try to clean them and then keep checking him. Thanks.

Following the advice, I have been bathing my boars eyes with saline solution and they seem to be improving He has also been so good when wrapped in a towel having his eyes cleaned - phew.
Just being a nervous new owner but will continue to monitor just in case a URI develops. May also swap to vetbed where he sleeps to reduce dust for him. Thanks
