Hey guys,

I'm looking to get my boar neutered at the end of January because all my other guinea pigs are females, one who is separate because she won't get on with the other girls, i think she feels threatened by them so therefor attacks but when she meets ginger through the bars she loves him and doesn't rumble or nip she just sniffs and squeaks at him and is very calm, they sit on either side talking at each other where as with the girls she teeth chatters instantly, rumbles and won't stop chasing them, she also back them into a corner and really nip hard!

I've been trying to find a good vet in Eastbourne as i want him to be as as safe as possible and phoned some local rescues but none have got back to me yet... because i imagine they are super busy.

So do guys have anybody you would recommend?

I've planned a list of questions i want to ask and if I'm not happy i won't have him neutered.

Thanks in Advance!

Have you checked the vet locator at the top of the page?

Hopefully someone may be able to suggest one, will try and keep this bumped up for you :)

Thank you sport_billy it's just if i could find one someone recommends it's a bit more safer than just questioning random vets, the only vet i can find online that seems to specialize in small animals in Eastbourne is St.Annes so I'll give them a phone and ask all my questions but I'd still like more than one option!

Seers Croft in Horsham (think it's Horsham) comes very highly recommended - might be a bit closer to you?

When we lived in Sussex, we used the Horsebridge practice. There is a Spanish vet there called Rosario Gutierrez (I have heard it said that continental vets tend to be better trained with small animals than their British counterparts - I think the late great Peter Gurney said this).

We found Rosario to be very caring, and obviously fond of guinea pigs. The only issue we had was that sometimes I found her accent a bit hard to understand!

I must stress that we never had any operations done, (well, other than a tooth op) so I've got absolutely no idea how they would do on the front, but I would think it might be worth ringing them up and asking your questions.

It's not a difficult journey from Eastbourne, and probably only about 10 miles away. Anyway, it's another suggestion for you! Their tel no is 01323 442250

Thanks so much guys, you've been a great help!

I'll give them a ring when I'm not at work and ask them my questions!

Thanks :tu:
