I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas for recycled toys etc for piggies? I'm a fashion student, so an avid sewer, but i was wondering if there was anything else I could make/re use?

Also I have noticed a lot of the owners on here use fleeces as a flooring... I use sawdust but my piggies arent loo trained... what is the best thing to use?

i cut sleeves off old hoodies and use them as tunnels, my mum puts some stuff in one end to make them stay open

I dont use fleece sorry, i use megazorb.

my piglets like old stuffed toys it hilarious to watch them suss them out ! ( check out charity shops they have loads ) though when i put a elephant teddy in there they didnt seem to like it !:{

Cut the inside of kitchen roll to give it a long slit, then fill with Hay and a piece of parsley. Our pigs love to rumagge to get the parsley out. You need to cut it though as otherwise they could get stuck.

mine are outside and i always but a thick layer of news paper down then a load of sawdust and hay in there bedding area and there fine. i do exactly the same when there in there inside cage during the colder months!

Yeah this is what I do, but mine are indoors, they love hay, its funny to watch them hide and run around in it! I was just really curious as I'd seen fleece on some images :)

Thankyou for that xx>>> So do you just use a little bit like sawdust/woodshavings but its more absorbent etc and you replace it less often? x x x x

i change mine about every 5 days and i have two pigs, but sometimes its more smelly than others, you just go with the flow! Its so cheap too, i get it from a farm shop in lancaster and it costs about £6, and yes, just a thin layer over newspapers, probs less than shavings

i buy a huge horse pack of wood shvings for £3 from our local frm shop it lasts them about 4 months wheather it would last a horse like a week!

I live in Preston atm and don't have a car so I'm really stuck to get to places and restricted to town shopping... When I go home back to Cumbria I will find a local supplier and give it a try :) then I can get my grandparents to take me! x x x x x x x

Mine love boxes- cereal boxes, tissue boxes, porridge sachet boxes, biscuit boxes etc just cut the ends off or cut holes in them and stuff them with hay or veg or both :))

boxes boxes and more boxes, Luckily i work ina supermarket and get a constant supply of these, I then just cut out novelty doors and windows to make they look "fun" or a door at either end, so its a big tunnel :)

for instance, my Romeo next to a mini egg's box :)) I did put a blanket in this too :)
