It's been some years but I don't remember ever seeing Jack, Rocco or Jake stretch. I don't remember ever seeing Blitzen stretch. Camowen's done it once that I've seen, Comet did it a couple of times but that's it.

And then there's Bann.

Every single time he wakes up. Every. Single. Time. And that can be frequently because we all know how hard it is to lead a guinea pig life. Full on front legs stretched far in front, back legs as far back as they can go, and that big toothy yawn. Mate what sort of a position do you sleep in that you need to stretch so much every half hour?!

Anyone else got a serial stretcher in their home?

I’ve seen Toffee stretch and yawn before but not very often.

Our Trudy always does a big yawn and stretch when you hold her in the crook of your elbow. She used to only do it for favourite daughter slave, but now will do it whoever is holding her. I love the way she pats her front paws up and down in turn while stretching 😂

@Lorcan I think we need to see photographic/video evidence of Bann's stretching manoeuvres- oh pleeeeaaasssse😍

I would if I could, it never lasts long enough for me to scramble to get my phone out  by the time I've realised what he's doing he's halfway through the last part of his act - the yawning.

Meanwhile Camowen's making himself a nest with packing paper and I'm wondering if they really are guinea pigs or alien shapeshifters in disguise who have 90% of piggy behaviour perfect and then just kinda...make up the other 10% as they go.

Oooh. I need a piggy cam!

That sounds so cute! None of our pigs have been stretchers, but most of our hamsters have been. Back feet way back, front feet way forward, huge yawn.... because life is so hard for spoiled hammies, right?

I had a sweet hamster a few years back. Whenever she got up she looked super sleepy and tousled. Just like myself. :))
Always had to do her morning routine before looking hamster perfect again.
While the piggies just stand up looking perfect after every nap.

Honestly I think Bann's behaviour is rubbing off on me at the minute, I feel the need to stretch every time I move. Feels great to get that nice joint "thunk" in the middle of it though no matter how much my back isn't supposed to make those noises!

Damn it, Bann!

I chucked some of the Nature's Own 5 a day hay into the cage. It has dandelions in it. Dandelions got Bann's attention. So I turn round to put the thing of hay down and turn back to see Bann rushing to get the dandelions before Camowen, whilst also stretching, whilst also almost falling over the edible box in front of him.

And I left my phone downstairs

My rainbow piggy Bertie always used to stretch his back legs out when I’d pick him up and put him in my arms for a cuddle. I think he was just maxing out on making sure he was fully relaxed.
