COVID-19 Anyone going back to work?

Just wondered if anyone has been advised by their boss to return to work?
We got a very clear message from the vice chancellor yesterday to ignore any government advice regarding returning to work and to stay home until uni staff can begin a phased return in August with the intention of opening properly for the students at the end of September- they've confirmed uni will start as usual after they make some "infrastructure changes" to allow us to teach and the support and admin staff to deliver services in person with social distancing... however that will work!
 
My father in law is having to go back to work on Wednesday. He works in a garage :(. My mother in law has been off sick for several months due to having a hip replacement but is due to go back to work next week. She works at the big orange supermarket :( My husband is a teacher so we don’t have to worry about him just yet. I clean at a local pub for a couple of hours a week so it’ll be July at the earliest until I go back

Iam classed has high risk, so I don't think I won't be going back just yet.
 
Daddy pig got a text saying wait for a phone call from hr as they are reinducting people, so far he's chosen to stay on furlough but will have to go back when he gets the call 🤦‍♀️
 
I got a text, basicly saying in a professional Manor, that my bosses who are father son and uncle, are trying to work out all of Boris johnsons waffle so that they can get a safe working plan back in place. Good luck to them, because this video below, is how i imagine it working out.

 
Hubby has just come home and told me he's now on furlough for 3 weeks unless called back in. He's a tyre fitter.
I am bank staff at my son's preschool so I'm not going back just yet and the government can think again if they want my 6 year old to go back, it's too soon!

Cos the company he works for had shut some centres and distributed staff to the ones left open. Meaning there is too many staff members for the work turnover. They've been on a rota so there's not too many staff in one place. The next three weeks is his turn.

It won't work, Boris is saying work facing away from one another or 2 metres apart
 
Was watching something today about boris relaxing lockdown and muttered "damn you, Boris!" To which I hear my six year old say "what's my hamster done now?" ... his hamster is called Boris and he finds it highly funny that all this is his little hamsters fault 😂

I egot lots of colleagues whose partners are in construction. Lots of them were happily working as they were fitting out on their own. The reason they stopped working was the merchants all closed and they ran out of equipment! They don’t seem to be on the list for reopening 🤷‍♀️ A few are opening, like Screwfix, but Howdens and the like is still shut.
 
I work in a large printers approx 60 on shifts normal time.
We been split the work force so it's 30 in some 6am to 2pm some (me) 8am to 4.30pm and some 2pm to 11.30 pm.
3 weeks on then 3 weeks off furloughed..
We print for NHS and others SPIRE too.
I'm now got 13 days to work then off for 23 days on 80%
I count myself very very lucky.
We have lots space and never thought I see this in my time.
 
I mostly work from home, so not a lot has changed, except now I work from home with the constant noise and upheaval of teenagers in the house!
On the plus side when I am in a meeting I can text them to bring me coffee.
On the down side DD1 thinks everyone might like to see Ruby when I am in a Zoom meeting.

I have an extremely understanding boss.
 
My OH has been working from home, he says as he is vulnerable even if his employers (courts service) ask him to go back in, he won't unless they can guarantee distancing and protection from the public. Some of his colleagues have been going in, to deal with stuff that can't be done by phone, but I don't think the rest will want to go back in until there is better protection.
 
Hoping everyone returning to work is able to stay safe. Apart from the horrendous fear that my daughter could catch this virus, my maternity leave definitely came at the right time and I don't need to think about going back until next March
 
I’ve been able to work from home throughout the lockdown and in fact we’ve found some efficiencies doing online meetings etc that we might look to keep even once our physical office reopens. I’ll continue to work from home for the foreseeable future.
MrA is a self employed tradesperson who’s been unable to work for the last 8 weeks with no income (although the self employed support scheme will open for applications this week). Even if he wanted to go back the merchants are still largely closed. And he works in people’s homes so he will have to risk assess each job to see if either he or the occupants could be at risk. Given that he does a lot for the elderly and infirm who are shielding I doubt he will actually be able to return to normal working patterns (and income) for some time yet to come.
 
possible start back for me at the start of June but they are still working out the details. I have missed working and in a household where all the other people have been working its been very surreal to me.
 
I work in a preschool and all of us staff are in contact to discuss how to be able to open safely following the guidelines given to schools. It’s rather stressful how to be safe in that situation - 3 year olds aren’t exactly known for their hygiene! Ive got one primary age child and one secondary age child and although neither of them fall in the specifically mentioned years for going back in the first round, they have said they want all primary age children to have some time back in school before the summer hols. It sounds as if there isn’t any plan to have younger secondary aged children back in before sept though so I am very grateful that my boss is so lovely and completely understands that it isn’t looking likely I’ll be able to go back at all before September. I’m now just hoping we have the option to not send primary aged children in if we don’t want to....but then I’m torn and wonder if it might be better for her to have some time back while there are likely to be far less children in. Not that that will get me back into work anyway as I’ll still have my older child home
