I have an awful feeling that the neuter op for Bernie might not have done what it should :...

My vet advised to leave 6 - 8 weeks before introducing him with the girls but to err on the side of caution I left it 10 weeks. He's been VERY happy with them ever since!

However, after the 3 girls looked to be getting portly I did a weigh in and then again today (10 days later). Lily has increased her weight by 27g in that time, Holly has increased her weight by 67g! and Jingles, the biggest looking of the 3 girls by 10g.

Lily weighs 940g now - very portly for her - and has that "rounded" look. She's only a little piggie!

They are eating the same amount of their dried food and are having the same amount of veg and fruit as normal, and top quality meadow hay. They've been out on the grass, but not in the last 7 days because of the heavy showers.

Bernie has lived with the girls since 28th March - some 6 weeks ago.

I can't find any information on neuter ops failing - is it possible?

I know a neuter op that didn't work because the person introduced them to early (2 weeks) to there girls.

How old are your girls are they still growing? Esme when she was growing gained roughly that much in a week! Perhaps shes just filling out!

Lily is 13 months old now - Holly and Jingles are her and Bernie's daughters and are 5 months old now!

Lily is the one who's shown a big increase in weight for her. That's what worries me.

I have had to separate Jingles from the group as she and her sister suddenly started to fight big style (bloody ears and bums the lot) so perhaps all have settled down and are less stressed - been apart a week? Bernie is the same weight but he never stresses about anything :)

Has Lily had babies?

The only neuter op that didn't work & did result in a pregnancy was when the vet who operated had left a small part of the epididimus in.

I too have seen weight gains of 68g in some of my adult females (all over 2yrs) & have had one of my spayed sows gain 98g in 2 wks. :)

Ah well perhaps they are all settling more now the two sisters have been separated and stopped fighting. I suppose it could have caused some stress amongst them all. Bernie is such an easy going boy he probably couldn't care less and he's the only one the same weight :)
