Are Abbys the noisiest breed of piggy?

Pebble the Abby pig has joined my family recently. He is by far the noisiest, squeakiest piggy I’ve ever known . Is it because he’s an Abby? Or is he just loud. Haha.

My aby, Stella, is by far my noisiest piggy. She starts wheeking and squeaking every time I open the fridge, or walk by their cage!

Pebble is hilarious. I’ve only got to open the back door and it sets him off. He’s in the garage and I can hear him across the garden.

If I call my dog Chester he starts squeaking. It’s so sweet. Never have I had such a vocal piggy. And I’ve had 10!

My Aby cross Peruvian isn’t my loudest boy but he’s certainly the bounciest! Once he gets into the swing of it he shakes the cage with his zoomies! Over 1 kg of piggy flying round in loops

Pringle is far louder than Pepper so yes I would agree Abys can be very loud! Pringle has a super high pitched wheak it’s so funny!

I had 2 abbys in the past (Timmy and Cookie) and they were both so naughty. We only had Timmy for 4 months before he passed away with illness, but when he was well, he always annoyed the 2 other piggies he was with. As for Cookie, she started with all the chewing of anything (chair, carpet, legs of our table, boxes, etc.) and she managed to pass that attitude on to the piggies that followed her. Now we have a baby abby, Whitney, and OMG she's sooooo noisy! She's nuts! She is also like a shadow to Bryce at the moment.

When Meg was younger (she is a bit of everything) when she started the wheeking chorus (she was Chief Wheeker) she sounded like there was a murder going on in my back garden! Now she has matured to a stately 6 and a half she hardly ever wheeks which I really miss. She hasn't been the same pig since her Mum and mentor DA BOSSVelvet was helped over the Rainbow Bridge 3 years ago. It's a miracle Meg is still here as she was very ill in Lockdown and it was only cos we took her up to Northampton to see Simon and Kim that she is still in the land of the living.

Micah is mostly aby and certainly has a very loud wheek, especially when he thinks food is due.



However, my loudest piggy was teddy Jemimah who could bring everyone in the house running to see what was wrong when she started wheeking.

Betty my aby was extremely vocal and demonstrative and shared every single thought or demand she had all day long. I loved it, even when I had to mute my zoom calls and pretend I had a bad internet connection

CAN CONFIRM. loudest breed. cookie barely makes a noise unless I'm giving her veggies or pellets. CARAMILK on the other hand screams at me EVERY DAY for any little thing she feel she deserves.......

My Ozzy is an aby cross and is definitely the loudest one of the two, I’m typing this as I’m awake at 5:45am from him making very loud displeased noises at Bruno’s humping

I'm not sure if my aby pigs were the loudest, but they were definitely the craziest! Frenzy was a big ball of nervous energy her whole life and Tomie, who looks pretty smooth but has one off-center rosette near her eye and probably has a tiny bit of aby in her, is NUTS! LOL!
