I've always thought they looked quite nice and I've wanted to get one for the guinea-pigs for a while and I've been guinea-pig and rabbit christmas shopping today, and I'm thinking of buying one of these for the guinea-pigs:

Are these good? Or should they just have a normal hay rack?

I've also bought the guinea-pigs some treats today, but I want them to have at least one christmas present that won't be eaten within 5 minutes :))

spining hay racks sounds interesting, it would help keep it in one place and help break any boredom, regarding treats that last, one of the great favourites with my brood is corn on the cob, i strip the leaves and tassles off, boil it for one minute drain let it cool then cut up into chunks of about 2"/4cm and give it to my piggies, who proceed to strip it right down to the 'wooden' core they love the creamy covering that the corn sits on and it lasts a good time, i currently have 42 pigs in my sanctuary and this is one of the most economical treats i can buy for them, good luck!

When I had my piggies, I gave it to them with leaves, silks and all, and never cooked it - they'd eat it all down to the core over a couple of days.

The spinning hay rack is great!

I put mine on the side of the cage and put Readigrass in mine and they spend ages spinning it to get it out. Its sooooo cute, they put a paw or two up to spin it, they have figured the faster it goes the more they get out! I could'nt believe it when I first saw it. They all do it. Definitely a great present for them and a good boredom buster.

I never thought of cooking it - I give it raw and my budgies and piggies like it. I wonder if I should try it cooked.
