I give all my guinea-pigs their main food in the evening and normally by the morning there is a bit left in their bowls so I've never really worried about them not having enough food, but I went to give them their vegetables this morning and 3 of my sows that live in the same hutch had an empty food bowl. I didn't add anymore food because I don't want to give them too much but now I'm worrying they might not have enough :)) Should I give them more or wait until they normally get more food, which is about 4.30?

Do you mean pellets or muesli, or the veg? They need unlimited pellets/muesli as they will eat until they have had enough so you just need to top up when it is looking low. :)

As long as they have loads of hay, I wouldn't fret about empty food bowls. If they have hay, then they won't go hungry. Whatever they might try to tell you. :))

mine get fed twice a day a bowl of veg and a bowl of dried.dont leave them without any food as piggies need to eat regularly

The piggy vet (one of the best in Sweden) linked to "my"rescue thinks most piggies (that are not sick, young, old or pregnant) are fine without pellets/nuggets/muesli. Mine only get it sometimes for a treat. Hay on the other hand is very unlimited (as in the four of them can always simultaneously hide in it) and I make sure to plan their veggies for vit. C.

Monitor their weight and condition. If they keep their weight and muscle mass they are probably getting enough food. At least over here the vet said he sees way more ovefed piggies than underfed.
