I just adopted two gorgeous piggies from a local rescue centre. They were said to be female, and as far as I can tell from doing the checking down below they seem to be female.
I heard one of making one of their little noises and gestures and it was the same as my neutered makes when he is getting amorous with the ladies (the bubbly noise if you know what I mean!) I'm now really really concerned. As I dont want to return them.
Can anyone help me? I can always take pictures and post if it helps

Hi and welcome

When you peer into the slit, sows have a fleshy arrangement just below the surface while boars go straight down. This is often the best way to determine the gender.
This sexing link contains pictures of how sows look compared to boars, including the slit: Sexing Guinea Pigs: How to Sex a Guinea Pig

Guinea pigs use the same social behaviours. Sows in season or when exhibiting dominance with also rumblestrut and mount other sows.

Thank you so much, was mega worried.
I done all the checks and I thought I was right but something was nagging me.
