Queen Sow Toffee is beginning to suffer with arthritis at the grand old age of 7-7.5 years! She is already on a long term dose of 0.1ml metacam daily. Is it worth trying a vegan glucosamine supplement or is the metacam enough? I hate shoving meds in her mouth but she loves the metacam 😣 We've tried the oxbow joint support tabs but she doesn't like them!

@Adelle mentioned in her thread
Popping in for a visit!
That the adorable miss Crunchie :luv::drool: is having laser treatment for her arthritis & it's helping.

Orca's going to the vet tomorrow (eye poke & lump on head) so I'm going to be asking him about laser treatment for my dogs arthritis whilst I'm there, I know they've used it for wound healing for a while, I didn't realise until Adelles post it was also used for arthritis.

Just look at the Gorgeous toffee... She looks very regal
:):love::wub:
She doesn't look 7ish either.. Must have used 'oil of pigaaaay'
Very youthful :nod:
Xx

Toffee wishes me to thank you all for your kind comments, she is very flattered and blushing a bit! I'll look into a glucosamine supplement for her and look into laser treatment too! It all sounds very space age, but that's OK because Toffee is well hip and 'down with the kids'. We'll, she's very hip op anyway :'D

The laser treatment has been great for my old girl. However it does seem like she is on a low dose of metacam so I would bring this up with the vet if she is showing signs of suffering with arthritic pain. The post suggesting adapting the cage is also a good idea!
