Hey guys i wanna ask you if my guinea pig gets ill/sick what should i do?
do i need to get him medicine or bring him to vet?:0

It all depends on what is wrong with the guinea pig. If in doubt, it's always safer to take him to a good vet. There is plenty of useful advice on this forum as well if you have any specific queries. I know that without this forum, one of my guinea pigs would no longer be with us.

It's always best to take your piggie to the vet if you think he's ill. You can also use the forum though to ask for advice. There are many helpful and knowledgable people on here.

I'd recommend that you see a vet; if you are not sure how piggy-knowledgeable he/she is, ask on the forum either before or after.

PS: I recommend that you put some money away every month for an emergency fund, as treatment can be quite expensive!

Vicky made an important point - keep money to one side, in a "vet fund", solely for any vets bills you may have to pay out for your pig. I had a rough two years with illnesses with my then-seven piggies and paid out around £900 during that time.
Even just putting away £10 a month will help.

Also, be sure to find a good, experienced guinea pig vet (or rodentologist) before you need them. You do not want to suddenly have a very sick piggie and then discover that your vets are useless and you don't agree/like/get on with them. Find someone as local as possible, who you trust and like, who listens to you (very important) and who actually shows some caring towards your guinea pig. A vet who respects an animal as well as who treats their illnesses is usually a good one.
