Dolly is currently being treated for a fungal infection, she has multiple affected areas. My vet told me to bathe her in Malaseb every 2-3 days for the next week, he advised against using human anti fungal cream, but I used it on her for the first couple of days before she saw the vet and I believe it worked.

She has had 2 baths so far and I can't tell if it's looking better or not, the redness has gone down but the areas are looking very dry and scaly. The spot on her head looks great but the nose and ears look super dry. I feel like I want to use the cream as well because it got rid of all that scaly dry skin and kept it smooth and clear for her.

We will likely be switching to using Intrafungol next week but for now I am very tempted to use the clotrimazole cream as this dryness looks awful and itchy...

As you are currently receiving treatment from a vet, I would avoid using any otc medications.
This can often mask the symptoms and make it harder for a vet to diagnose and prescribe the right treatments.

As you will be seeing the vet soon, I would wait and discuss the options through with them.

Agree with Swiss. Going against the vets advice is not good. It might also create a barrier stopping the other medication from penetrating the skin so I would follow the directions for one medication at a time. If it doesn't clear I am sure the vet will recommend next steps

It does look very dry, but I have no experience with fungal issues. It might be worth speaking to your vet about using cream or lotion to help the dry skin.

A totally different issue but one of my past Rex piggies had mites and no amount of Ivermectin would stop his scratching. We ended up using a Gorgeous Guineas gel on his worst affected areas and he started to heal alot quicker.

I'd mention it to the vet first though as it could hinder the effectiveness of the medication.

I absolutely love gorgeous guineas! Dolly has had this dry skin on her ears from birth, so it's possible her ears are not even fungal but just dry skin and the shampoo is making it worse, but this is what my vet told me to do... I've found super souffle is the best for her dry skin and manuka & neem shampoo.

My other piggies have always been itchy and don't have any skin issues, they do get hay mites/static lice though, so I use the lice n easy on them and it works pretty good but those pesky hay mites always come back constantly, haven't found a way to prevent those -_-
