Hi,

I just bought some Avipro plus for our boars because they are all on antibiotics at the moment. They aren't very ill, one has a bit of a cold, the other one was given meds because he's in the same cage and the vet said our other boar (baby boar around four months) may have a cold.

Could anyone tell me how much Avipro to how much water that I should use please? Also how much should I be giving them? and can the baby boar have the same amount as the big boys?

I don't want to do it wrong!

Thanks in advance

Kerrie

PS

these forums are brilliant, the people seem very nice and helpful :)

I tend to follow the instructions on the pot, I think you can make it more concentrated for a pig that is poorly. As far as I am aware the baby can have the same amount. If I have a pig on antibiotics I give at least 5ml an hour or so after their dose and as much as I can throughout the day. With Avipro you can also put a sprinkle of the powder on their food which mine like but if giving with antibiotics don't do it until at least an hour has passed.

Thank you :)

I'll do as you said, we'll probably syringe it to them to make sure and sprinkle it on their food if that's ok?

Sorry I've only just replied, we've just been making a C&C for the two older boys so the baby can have their cage when I've given it a good clean out :)

Thanks again, I really appreciate the help and advice :)
