:(:( Just had an awful bathing session - I could cry. Poor Beryl and Gubbins have a fungal infection so I'm currently doing the Coconeem melt and coconut and neem shampoo treatment. Chrissie at GG's told me to strip as much of the hair out of them as I could whilst washing them and this was the worst bit. Both of the piggies were crying whilst I rubbed the coconeem melt into their rumps (the rest of their body seemed to be OK) but poor Beryl cried her little heart out when I attempted to strip the loose hair from her sore little body. I've never felt as bad in my life.

We've got to repeat it all again twice more 8.... I kept telling them they'd feel so much better when it was all over but I don't think they like me very much now :(.

Going off to eat chocolate to make myself feel marginally better....................

awwwwwwww poor you and piggys that sounds horrible :( hope they get better soon x

God bless their and your little hearts. I've only bathed mine once since I've had them and they weren't too bad, wriggly, but not too bad. It's awful though, especially when we are trying to do our best for them.

Thanks guys. They've stuffed their faces with fresh veg and are now pottering about as normal - although they can't seem to do a thing with their hair following a nice blow dry! I'm sure they'll forgive me eventually but I feel awful for having caused them so much discomfort :(.

How stressful for you. Horrible to feel you're hurting them when you have to do it to heal them. :( Well done for persevering.
Hugs to all 3 of you. Hope the chocolate helps. x

I've got to do this to Amber at some point over the next few days and I'm really not looking forward to it. Her last bath she just wriggled around and jumped out the sink but when I treat her fungal I know she's not going to like it :( Well done for giving them a bath, hopefully you'll the fungal will go now

BIG HUG

Best of luck with a good success of the treatment, so at least it's worth it! Make sure that you have a special treat for afterwards.

Well I necked half a packet of chocolate digestives after my ordeal and although it made me feel slightly better, my hips won't thank me!

Beryl's still looking a bit 'spikey' around her face this morning. Don't think I got all the Coconeem Melt out but I'm sure it won't hurt her.

AWWW that does sound like quite an ordeal.

Poor little things and poor you. At least you know they will be getting better now.

HUGS!

That sounds terrible for you all! Talk about "tough love"! Well done for managing to do it and good luck for next time :)

poor piggies, they will feel better for it.

shame chocolate doesn't do the same job with piggies

I'm so sorry to hear of your ordeal Mackers, The thing to try and remember is your doing the best thing for them.
My guinea pigs absolutly hate being bathed, and cry continuosly, they then scream afterwards when being brushed and I'm certain they hate me afterwards.
They do always seem to forget after a day or so and plenty of cuddles!
