B&Q Grids - possibly very bad news.....

I've just been talking to B&Q customer services, there are only 10 sets of B&Q grids left in the UK and they are going to discontinue the line!

The company that supply these grids (SLEMCAA - Tel: 0121 5650110) have said that as far as they are concerned, B&Q are still their only stockists for this item and unfortunately you cannot buy from them direct. mallethead

If anyone needs some more grids or want to contact B&Q to complain, the barcode for this item is "5015772198409" (B&Q code "27745748" ). If you look on the new style B&Q site (www.diy.com) and search under this barcode the product is no longer listed! :(

I had a lovely chat with a lady from the MK branch and informed her that all the guinea pig lovers in the UK will be extremely disappointed and that the piggies will be forced to live in small mass produced cages! :(

Anyway, if you want to call and ask about this item, maybe if enough of us ask we can get them back on their stock list. :)
 
I got mine from screwfix.com I'm sure they still sell them? They have stores up and dwn the UK. :)
 
The lovely lady from MK B&Q has just phoned me to say that at close of business yesterday, Coventry had 7 sets in stock. Hopefully I'll get over there tomorrow to get some - bit of a trek but I need some!
 
Screwfix and B&Q are owned by the same company and although their products are not identical they do use the same buyers etc. If one stops stocking something then the other will usually follow.

My advice: flood them with requests! DIY.com or 02380 256256 is the Head Office phone number.
 
Just phoned the Coventry B&Q but they have an error within their stock taking and don't have any grids at all in stock! Chances are that the other 3 that B&Qs system say are available may be the same :(
 
My hubby is a manager for B&Q and has had a lot of people asking for these recently. He has e-mailed head office about the demand for them but advises that everyone on here who uses them does the same - even if you dont a nice email wouldn't hurt!
 
Someone's selling some on eBay (16 grids and 18 connectors) for £13.99 plus £6.89 postage so I've brought some of them - happy now! ;)
 
My B&Q had 6 boxes of them tonight :{ Was in looking for something to put under the bathroom sink and I joked with mum she should get them to make up something for under the sink an give the piggies the rest.
 
This is terrible news.

These cages have been so popular with my adopters recently and I have 2 who are planning to build them and adopt piggies from me.

Really disappointed
 
I can't see them on the Screwfix site either, they used to be listed as a 4 Cube Display :( how disappointing.
 
Oh no, think I'll head up to B&Q tomorrow to see if I can get them - don't think they stock them though, think they have to order them in for you so it doesn't sound like I'll be getting them from there.
