As some of you know Ebony was my first pregnant piggy, she arrived a few weeks ago with a male (Olly) so we were sure she was pregnant. Everything was going fine we had read up on everything and were full prepared for when she had her babies.

Then on Wednesday I was asked to take a mom and 4 babies, as a lady had brought a friend for her male and as you can guess the male was actually female. I foolishly never asked how old the babies were but was expecting a mom and 4 babies about 3-4 weeks. Well when they turned up mom had had another 4 babies during the night and her first litter were still all living with her.

So I ended up with Connie, her 4, 1 day old babies and 4 10 week old babies. I think the 2 older girl babies are pregnant and I wouldn't be suprised if mom isn't pregnant again for the third time in row.

Oh blimey, you have got you're hands full! All gorgeous of course, and no doubt more pregnancie in the little girls you've taken in - it's the story for all the rescue's this year pregnancies coming out of our ears!

I know it's gone mad here, in 4 years I've never had a pregnant piggy then 4 come along at once, I've managed to calm down now and stopped panicing about them.

Another foster also has a litter of hammies so in total I think we have;
16 rabbits under 3 weeks
8 hammies 10 days old
7 piggies under 2 days old
That's ontop of all the older animals we have in at the moment.

We counted yesterday 52 animals at my house, that is including my own and the ones we are boarding for a friend (they are all going home tomorrow thankfully).
 
Have you weighed all the piggy babies yet? 70-100g is good Below 60g may need a bit help - extra time on it's own with mum, on your lap to ensure it feeds. if you have time of course!

Yes I did (put them on the other thread)

Connie is 775g she had her babies Wednesday morning her babies are:
-agouti baby 60g
-mini Apache 50g
-white dot 50g
-brown face 60g

Ebony is 800g she had her babies Thursday morning her babies are:
- mini Ebony 90g
- crested 75g
- belly band 60g

My mom has gone to get some goats milk today, she should be back soon. All the babies seem really strong except belly band, that one is really wobbly and can't walk around like the others. Not sure if that's normal or not.

I'll make time to sit with them and mom, baby rabbits are so different, you can't touch them or anything for he first 3 weeks.
 
Aww you have your hands full with all the new arrivals! They are all so beautiful,and oh my isnt Apache stunning? x)
 
Just wanted to add if anyone is in the Walsall area and would like to foster we would love to here from you. You must be in the Walsall area though or very very close, due to having to use our vets.

Best of luck and fingers firmly crossed for all girls! I hope that you can find fosterers close to you.
 
Goodness, what a houseful. Mums and babies are all gorgeous. Hope everything goes well for all. x
 
there all beautiful piggies, will the males (Apache and Indi) be available for rehoming at some point if I'm not successful with Howard or Chesney? ive still not heard anything. xx
 
Yes they will all be available for adoption at some point. They are all in quarentine for the next 2 weeks then we will start putting them in the rescue section.
