Hi, i'm not sure if i'm on the right thread for this or not but i need some advice please. I have a 2 year old guinea pig already from a baby and he lost his brother over a month ago now. I have decided to get him a new friend i picked him up yesterday he is about 8 - 9weeks old and brought him home i haven't introduced him with my other one yet but now i am a bit concerned on doing this because last night i heard baby cough at least 3 times and this morning he has coughed again only once so far this morning. I checked his nose and eyes they seem fine and he is eating, should i be worried and not introduce them yet? or is it because he is in a new environment? Thank you

I would keep the piggy quarantined for around 2/3 weeks. I wouldn't be alarmed just yet so long as he is still eating and shows no other signs of illness. Guinea pigs do cough every now and again especially when eating etc and it could just be that. Try not to worry. If you really aren't sure then see a vet. :)

Thank you for your advice i will keep him separated for a couple of weeks and keep my eye on him. Hopefully it is nothing ☺

As he's still a baby, it's worth giving your baby piggy a cuddly teddy bear or soft toy with no sticky out eyes for him to cuddle on since he isn't with his mum now.
