Hi!
Please be aware that hand rearing orphaned babies is very difficult and that you are very much up against the odds.
If mum died during giving birth, then your pups have not had the protection that comes from mum's antibody rich milk, especially her first milk (which is called colostrum) and which kickstarts the immune system.
You'd also best feed the babies with a small artists brush and not a syringe, as any feed that goes down the wrong way is going to cause pneumonia, which they cannot fight. They to lick the milk and cannot be force fed for that reason.
Babies are very delicate and can go downhill extremely quickly. There is virtually nothing you can do. You need to feed them little but often around the clock at first; that is very draining.

Situations like this are the reason why we have a strict no breeding policy on this forum. It is always devasting for anypig and any person involved. Unfortunately, every 5th birth ends in death for mum or babies even with the best of care. Percentages go up if that is not the case. :(

@pig in the city

This forum is so great for giving clear easy to follow information. As a child I bred a few guinea pigs and was clearly very very lucky as all babies (except one) survived as did the mothers. (4 pregnancies in all). I kept most of the piggies, had to rehome the boys due to lack of space. The girls all lived in a massive chicken coup in the garden which I used to sit in with them.

I hope your guinea pigs come through alright. Bless them.
