Well I live in Lancashire so we are back in lockdown from Tuesday so we can’t mix with other households in private homes or gardens and pubs and restaurants have to close at 10pm.

We’re meant to be going to Nottingham for my father in laws birthday next weekend and we’re meant to be going to Liverpool and Blackpool for a night each at the end of October with my parents and the in laws so I’m not sure what’s going to happen there :(

Is anyone else being affected by another lockdown?

We're lucky in West Cumbria, we haven't been affected yet.

Sending hugs Claire, we are back in lockdown from Tuesday too here in Liverpool!
I think... that an extended family party cant happen at all now, but if you and your husband were going away together as a household that is still ok... except you wont be able to come round and visit my piggies while you are in Liverpool! But I think the hotels, museums, galleries, restaurants etc are staying open, just everything closing early at 10pm, and you need to book in advance to visit any tourist attractions...

Thank you. I’m sorry that you’re in lockdown too. I don’t mind booking in advance but I guess we won’t be going away at the end of October as we will be 3 households mixing unless the lockdown is lifted by then

Sorry you'll be missing out on seeing friends and family Claire... I do think seeing the huge local rise in covid cases though its time the government did something to try stop all the irresponsible mingling that so many people are doing, even if it spoils things for the rest of us who have been sensible!
Why not aim for a nice quiet weekend away somewhere just you and your husband? Somewhere with nice peaceful walks, nice cosy dinners, early nights... I might try book something like that for myself and piggy daddy actually for our october/november birthdays, if I can get my daughter to piggysit!

Yes I agree that the government has to do something. It’s just a shame that the rest of us have to suffer :(
Yes, I may try and book something just for me and hubby if we can’t all go away together.
I hope your daughter can piggysit so you and piggy daddy can go away for a night or two for your birthdays x

Wirral is now being restricted from Tuesday.
We’re supposed to be going to visit mother in law next weekend but trying to figure out if that’s still ok because she’s not in a local restriction area, or not ok because we are and should be avoiding socialising with another household.
Spent last night trying to catch up with last week’s restrictions and this afternoon trying to deal with today’s news - in between all the other stuff :hb:

That’s the problem we’re having whether we can go to Nottingham next weekend or not as they’re not in a local lockdown but we are 🤔

I am so sorry to hear this Claire
It is so frustrating and difficult, particularly when you have followed the rules, but still end up missing out becasue not everyone is being responsible.

One of my kids is currently in the UK at school, so I am constantly on tenterhooks about the next set of restrictions.
At the moment she can't come home to Switzerland as she would have to quarantine for 2 weeks when she goes back tot he UK.
But if I visit her in the UK I have to quarantine for 2 weeks when I arrive.

I feel like i am stuck between a rock and hard place, as she adores her school and is the happiest she has been in years, but she is only 13 and still needs time with family.

With the situation changing daily it is just impossible to plan anything.
I hope you come up with a solution for your time away.

We’ve been in it since start of August (were in Calderdale), it’s a pain but necessary. Noticed Morrison’s are putting barriers back up outside tonight as well and limiting number in store. Stay safe 👍🏻

Sorry it's messing up your plans, @Claire W , and anyone else who is affected by a local lockdown. I'm in the Birmingham/Sandwell/Solihull lockdown area since last Tuesday. It doesn't really affect me much, as I don't go out a great deal beyond necessities anyway. My church home group has gone back to using Zoom again, that's the main difference. Two whole years at my younger son's school are already having to self-isolate, I hope his year stays clear as I don't really want the stress of home schooling again...
I wish some people would put up with the pain of social distancing and mask wearing better in the short term, if they keep making it possible for the virus to spread by partying etc we'll be stuck like this for months 😒

I’m back to home schooling today whilst trying to work. I feel like a bad mother and my little boy says I make him do more work than he does at school, my 2 girls are still going to school which seems mad to me but I guess that’s the reason for “bubbles”. Hoping full lockdown doesn’t happen again as we have a week away in Anglesey booked for October half term.

I told someone to move away from me today in the queue to pick up my children, they were far too close. I had a mask on but she I still felt uncomfortable with how close they were. First time I’ve said something x

That must be very hard, trying to do your work whilst also ensuring your boy gets his schoolwork done. Primary school work must require a lot more parental input than secondary. I'm lucky, I don't have a job and my son is in secondary - my input is mostly telling him to get off his console , check his list of work and get on with it. So mostly nagging, which I'm well practised at after 15 years ...
Good luck for your holiday 🤞

Yep, I think Wigan is back in Lock down too! Going to have a look at the restrictions. It's a pain, but sadly a must to avoid a full on lock down again. Hopefully it isn't for long!

At present the rule of 6 I believe is national covering Scotland, England and Wales. The rule says that two households no more than 6 can mix, there is a difference depending on the age of the children as Scotland doesn't count under 12's and England does.

My current location I can travel to other areas, however we are not allowed to mix with other households even in non restricted areas as we live in a restricted area. We are allowed to go to a hospitality venue and meet another household, as hospitality venues should have preventative measures in place, and limits the time spent together, this can help stop the spread and boosts the economy.

It is likely very soon we will have more measures in place as the priority is keeping the schools open which means other things will be closed or restricted. Spain is around 100 daily deaths again, I believe it is likely this will happen in the UK to if measures aren't taken to stop it.

If you live in an area that is under lockdown or restrictions you may not socialise with another household in a home or garden. This applies to those who live outside the area as well as inside.
@Claire W sorry you won’t be able to go to your father in law’s birthday next weekend.
Our visit to mother in law is also cancelled.
In Wales you are not permitted to travel outside your area if it is under lockdown.

Watch this space - it’s certain to change again soon because there are still some who think this is all a conspiracy and the virus 🦠 doesn’t really exist!
