Hi, I went to check up on my baby and he wasn't using his left leg, when I held him up to check I noticed that it is very swollen and purple, it goes from the back of his foot and all the way up to his body. I felt for broken bones but couldn't find anything and he still moves it, just doesn't use it. I don't know how that happened but he does have a habit of jumping from high places even though I removed most of the stuff where he could climb to jump.

Oh dear so sorry to hear this. He really needs to see a vet to find out what damage has been done and at the very least will need a pain killer/antiflammatory for the pain and swelling.

As above he defiantely needs to see a vet - my vet only charges about £18 for a consult - so if you don't use a vet normally a quick ring round your area to get prices and ask if anyone there deals with the small furries will be a good idea - from the sound of it it won't get better on it's own and as above will need pain relief and possibly anyibiotcs if infected ( again not usually expensive - I think I pay about £7 for 10 days worth -

@TamiM Unfortunately you're going to have to go to the vet sooner rather than later as he's going to be in quite a bit of pain.

The vet will xray it for him, and prescribe appropriate med's including much needed pain relief.

I don’t have a lot of experience with breaks or sprains that were swollen so I'm also wondering whether it could be bumblefoot.

Again, that would need the vet as it's very painful and needs antibiotics, and pain relief at the least.

I'm sorry for your little guy. Please let us know how you get on, and well done for spotting it so soon.

Oh gosh poor little love, fingers crossed that the vet can quickly diagnose and help. x
