I was at docs today and been put on pills for a bacterial skin infection .Is on my face and shoulders. Is it okay to still handle my piggies or am I risking them getting it. They are fine at the minute so don't know where I have picked it up from. Didn't think it was worth asking doctor-would probably send me away with the men in white coats

Lol men in white coats hey!
Think I would have risked it!
Personally I wouldn't handle them if I could help it, but is it worth asking at your local pharmacy if they can give you some idea if your condition is transmittable to the furbabies?
Either that or telephone the vet& ask them- if they're anything like mine they know I'm a complete loony with the girls, but I do have their best interests at heart. Might even be a condition that's common in animals that the vets are used to treating anyway.
Actually, think I would try the vets first.
Hope you're soon feeling better. Xx

I would enquire at your vet's. However, I would think that a good antibacterial disinfectant/handgel or disposable gloves should do the trick.

thank you Have been washing my hands with antibacterial gel before and after handling them and keeping them away from my face My hands aren't affected.Am itching like mad and trying not to scratch as will make it worse (will get my mum to knit me some mitts)
