Hunnichow

After watching the pigs together in the cage for a good while (checking them from time to time) I noticed that Peppa was throwing the baby pig out and getting very angry when she tried to re enter, but because the baby is so small and quick compaired to big her and her "disabled" back legs, she got back in everytime. And it was upsetting peppa.
So that said I saw no choice but to move the baby pig back into its own cage, with plenty of hay and just hope she comes out her shell in the next wee while...

If Peppa's a boar, he can't be in there, or he can hurt the baby. If it's the female, then I don't know what's wrong. :/

Thanks for the reply

They are both female.
But I didnt want to upset Peppa.
I think i'm just super worrying becoz ive never had a baby before, i will leave her til tomorrow and see how things are.

I would have maybe taken the hidey out not the baby. Then put in 2 boxes with 2 entrances / exits cut into them so no one can get trapped inside them.

A bit of chasing is okay and normal, they are trying to figure out who is in charge.

It IS hard to watch when it's a baby - they seem so small compared to the big guinea pig. But persevere as they are getting on okay.

Here are tips for introducing guinea pigs:

Make sure that you do it on neutral ground and without hides and anything that Peppa can go possessive about; especially anything with only once entrance. Make also sure that there are at least two food bowls spaced well apart, hides etc. until things have settled, so baby cannot excluded.
