Hi! I was giving Oreo and Rocko some floor time and I asked my sister to watch the pigs as I put away some food. Yet I got back after doing so to find my sister gone, and one of my books I was reading chewed up around the edges! It wasn't the thin paper, it was the thicker outside (picture below of the damage).

Will anything happen to him? Also, how do I enforce to him that I don't like it when he chews on hard plastic/paper?

Hi! Take a deep breath. Paper is fibre and is not harming your piggies. They love chewing anything pulpy, including cardboard and books, as a number of my own is witness to!

Ah, thank you!

Oreo has chewed up so much in my home, I just wasn't expecting a book! I'm really protective of my books, so I was really mad but worried for my pig :))

Treat free roaming piggies like you treat human toddlers - everything they can lay their gnashers on has to be out of reach!

He'll be okay... it's just paper fiber. It will pass right through. There really is no way to teach them not to chew your stuff, unfortunately. Rodents are born chewers. Put everything you possible can out of reach and keep an eye on them for the stuff you can't remove. My pigs have eaten such items as my doorframes and Hadley once pulled up a small section of my rug before I caught her at it!
