Junior Guinea Pig
Yesterday my sweet handsome Bailey was put to sleep. He has not been eating or toileting at all. He would play with his veg and that was it. This started 2 weeks ago. I felt prepared for it but it still makes me cry whenever I think of him. My original vets who have been seeing my pigs for the last 5-6 years let me down in the first week it started stating that they could not see or feel anything wrong. I knew it was something to do with the mouth but they insisted it was fine and all they could see was that he had eaten food. I saw the vets twice and on third booking they called me to say they are not exotic pet trained yet they still allowed me to register. I Decided to join another vets in town and they were brilliant. Vet found a Matt of hair in his mouth and when they removed it they could not see the back molars as his right side of his mouth was too swollen. It’s so frustrating that we were put in this position. I know I can’t prove anything that my original vets were giving wrong info and if they had maybe we could have saved Bailey or given him a chance to survive. The amount of money I have spent to try and save him because the insurance would not help either. It’s been a very exhausting week and I miss him terribly. Luckily I still have my Cookie.
