We got Bailey, as he had been fighting with other piggies.
He had a sore and has several bits missing from his ear.
So, he apparantly hates other piggies and is a bully.
He is currently in quarantine. Just in case.
He did try and attack one of my other piggies when held near his cage.

What I'm wondering, is he best left where he can see the others and leave it at that or should we attempt to find him a buddy?

Is it ok to have lone piggies as long as there are other piggies near?

Do you know how old he is?
Personally, I think if he hates other piggies, being alone but near them is fine :) but as you get to know his personality, you may find later on that you can bond him :) Foe now, I think as long as he can hear/smell/see others, he will be fine O0

I agree with Fi, if he can see others for now he will be fine. He is probably a youngish pig so maybe when the teenage stage is over he will be ok. I'm hoping this is what will happen with S&T, although I don't think I'll be re-bonding them but hopefully they will have a friend each in a couple of months as I really don't want them to live next to one another, it's no way to live. :)

i agree with the 2 previous post as long as he can see and smell others bailey should be happy. or you could try dividing a cage and try him like that so he gets use to others. sounds like you have a bossy teenager on your hands. good luck bailey. hugs and cuddles :smitten: :smitten:

They didn't say how old he was, but he weighs the same as 2 of my others, they are 6/7 months old.
His testicles are visible too. So I would say roughly 6 months.

I think I will let him observe the others for now.
Thanks. :-* :-*
