Hello, id like to post a picture of my 1 year olds suspected bald patch and hopefully get some advice before taking him to his vet. Iv been keeping an eye on this area and it doesn’t seem to be getting larger. His skin can be very pink and hot. Other times it is fine with no heat. He is scratching as he normally does, not in distress and eating normally. I can hold him and run my fingers gently through his hair so I’m not overly concerned yet. I wouldn’t want to wait too long of course just incase it is the start of something. Any advice would be greatly appreciated :).

Where is this on your piggie? Looks like it is just his fur to me but just checking where this is situated.

It’s on his left side, closer to his rump. Doesn’t seem to be anywhere else. His fur grows long and I try to keep it trimmed but never noticed patches as bad as this bit.

Too me it looks like the rosettes in his coat but that they are close together. Peruvians have rosettes so it is likely just the way his coat falls. His skin looks normal in the photos.

Hi! I have seen this in piggies of mine where nothing has been wrong. Good that you have taken pictures, so you can compare if the bald area is getting bigger over the coming days. In that case, please see a vet for mange or hay mites.

Great thanks for all the reply’s. He has lots of rosettes but recently these two have been more distinguishable on his side so will definitely keep an eye and compare pictures for vet to look at if necessary. Thank you
