So one of my piggies is getting bathed this weekend as he has a fungal infection. I have never bathed him before although he is a Peruvian as the breeder advised against it. I began to notice they both have dandruff and Alfie's hair comes out when u pull it I have had him checked over by a vet and he confirmed that it wasn't parasites just a fungal infection. I have ordered from gorgeous guineas manuka neem, coconeem and posh and go.
Does anyone have any advice when it comes to baths and using the two lotions?
Thank you

Hi, to be honest fungal infections such as ringworm are usually harder to get rid of than parasites and persnally I would use an anti fungal shampoo such as malaseb which can only be ordered from vets

I agree with the above, I would always use an anti fungal shampoo like Malaseb or Nizoral followed by Imaverol dips. Sometimes the dips are effective enough on their own. I tend to be wary when using the shampoos on very young pigs but I know Imaverol is safe to use on babies.

Both myself and some reputable rescues only ever use imaverol dips now - even with active fungal. It;s very effective because you syringe it on and leave it to dry. It's also far less harmful than some of the other creams/medications if the guinea pig ingests due to grooming.
