Bathing

only shampoo that is made for guinea pigs. they have sensitive skin. and only when they start to smell, or are really dirty. which is not that often. about every 4-6 months deepening on circumstances.

Either guinea pig shampoo (preferably not insecticidal, as if their skin is healthy it can cause irritation) or Johnsons baby shampoo is very popular and is what I use.

Piggies don't need routine bathing, just do it when you feel it needs doing :)

I have used normal teatree shampoo (I know you're not supposed to but it was all I had at the time) but I put only a tiny bit in a big jug of water so it was very diluted, but I would advise using a small animal shampoo to be safe!

i have only ever used johnsons baby shampoo, but rarely bath mine, usually only a bottom bath if needed.
a couple of longer haired piggies i had used to get baths to freshen them up-one particular pair i had would be, one would like the bath & hate the drying & the other was the opposite way round she almost sulked when i turned the hairdryer off (a right diva!)

a lot of members use gorgeous guineas shampoo products which are apparently very good. x
