I am struggling to find a quality light for my new shed. Any suggestions?

I like the look of these but have heard that the light doesn't really spread well.

I suppose if i got a few i could position them around the shed. It is not a very big shed either. and if i needed extra bright light i could pick one up and hold it. They seem to be the best ive seen on amazon so far.

Thanks. I looked at a few motion sensor ones and i might get one for the front of the shed but i know the pigs would just set it off all night if it was inside! :xd:

Hahaha :))
I don't know if the motion sensor you're looking at is the same, but PIR sensors for burglar alarms only get set off if the 'animal' or person jumps over 2m :)

BTW that strip light used to be sold in home bargains for less - may be worth checking if it still is. Home bargains also sold some small rounded (may have been hexagonal) ones. I used to use a couple of the little round ones for general light in the ponies field shelter and the long strip one for more focused light (my one had a plastic hook on the back so I moved it around to suit whatever I was doing)

I now have a couple of the strip light ones in my garage (can't afford to run electrics to it as its at end of garden) and they are adequate.

From time to time they also have some good LED headtorches in stock. They can be really useful.

If you wamted a realy multy functional garden shed,Some garden apliances may require 240vac so you could buy a 12v invertor they are quite affordable
for a realy posh shed
Though make sure the whatage of the inverter is adiquite ie, hedge trimers around 400w
get an inverter that is rated at 500w

Wow! I really don't understand what the inverter does but I may ask my dad! I quite like the idea of the strip lights and maybe a headtorch.

Have you thought about solar panel lights? I have both mains electric lighitng on an RCB (so I could put a heater in for the buns over winter and not have to worry about any electrical surges), and solar powered lights. I placed the solar panels to the roof of my shed and ran the cable through hole drilled into the shed. Also the little round push LED lights from IKEA are awesome, I fixed mine to the underside of the rabbit's second level so I could down light the area beneath where their main litter tray is. I have them in my other shed where I store their feed aswell. I fixed them to the ceiling and just tap them to come on :))

I like the little ones from ikea too.

Thanks for all the recommendations! I will keep thinking about what ones will suit best!

Another shed question!(FYI I have a 5x4ft shed) Two questions actually! First: What wattage of tubular heater should I get and should I get one or two? And second: What should I do about vents(wall vents)?
This is the heater I like: They come in other wattages too!

I have struggled to find a battery powered light that is bright enough or that doesn't drain down quickly in the cold. This year I have looked into alternatives and have just ordered this from Amazon -
MicroSolar - Super Bright - Lithium Battery - 60 LED Solar Shed Light - Power Adjustable - £40

It's solar powered (and is meant to work in winter too - we shall see!) and from the reviews it should light up my shed really well. Seems alot to pay but would cut down on the many useless lights I have bought and their mountain of batteries too.

so will post a review once I have tested it out one delivered - I am really hoping this works as trying to remember where I put the torch and continually replacing light batteries in the shed is doing my head in lol!

just realised you never said battery operated in your post - so my post is probably not what you need! oops!:lol:

My new shed light is working great - but will need to see how well it recharges itself, but with the simple assembly of screwing the panel to the outside of the shed, poking the wire through, and mounting the light inside it is up and running.

good strong bright white light and the boys were popcorning last night when in went in late to sort their hutches. Makes a change from scrambling with the torch in one hand and tripping over everything in the shed!

so I would recommend this one!
