Just a qwuick question. ihave some baytrill in my cupboard and was wondering if its ok to give Bigbum as he is still under the weather. if so how much should i give him?

It depends on the piggie's weight. Also Baytril doesn't keep indefinitely - so best check the label for expiry date. I don't think I'd risk it

Thanks Sophie. This was prescribed back int 2007 so i wont risk it.

I'm just trying to find ways of perking the boy up. He hasnt gone down hill but he hasnt gone up hill either.

Many medications expire around 6 months after opening. If it's from 2007 then it's better not to.

Does Bigbum seem in pain, Jane? How's his weight? If I remember rightly, he was diagnosed by the CCT as having a reaction to dead mites, and you bathed him just a couple of days ago? How does his behaviour compare, before the bath and in the days after? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get the picture clear in my mind so I can help you out a bit more.

Hi :)

He was ok before and ok afterwards i think. ok in the sense that he ran away when i tried to pick him up which he normally does and ran out into the hay and nibbled a bit.
When i came home today he was just listless. he didnt mvoe when i put my hand near him and he just looks ill... he has stopped eating on his own now. I have put the rest in the other thread...
I am questioning whether my vet was actually right now...:(

As for pain he clucks a bit when i pick him up but that could be just general disgruntlement at being picked up as he usually wheeks until he is being held.

I have replied to your other post Jane, and updated it after seeing your last post.
