Junior Guinea Pig
He had a small cut on his back which started to heal then blew up into quite a big sore. I bathed it for a couple of days and put antiseptic cream on it, but decided that the vet should see it just to be sure. Anyway, he was a big brave boy and let the vet pick the scab right off - he just buried his head in my coat. He's now back on Baytril (he's only been off it a week from the last time) and has got some better cream to put on twice a day. It doesn't seem to be bothering him, but it looks really nasty and he's got a huge bald patch.
I'm completely baffled as to how he got the cut in the first place, it must have been from scratching (I just hope I didn't catch him with my nails
).
Poor boy, I hope he manages to stay well for a bit longer this time.
