So Norman and Earnie have been bickering over everything. At first it was because I only had one of each things for example, one house, one play tube, one bowl, one bottle, one ball, one hay stack. But I’ve been out and bought the exact same things and they are still bickering over the same item. It’s just not items either it’s food too I prepare the exact same food in two seperate bowls and they fight over the same dish. I have separated their cage but that just makes them upset. Is there anything else I could do?

How old are they? Do they have a hidey house each? And what size is their cage? I would exepct it is just boarly hormones as they sort out the hierarchy and who is boss

If they are in their teenage stages (from 4 months to 10 months I think?) they can have arguments with friends they got on with before/be overall a bit nastier.

Hi! Are your boys new (i.e. in the process of establishing a hierarchy) or in the teenage months between 4-14 months old?

Yes they are 5 months old so probably being stroppy with one another. They are brothers so have been together since birth really :) hope they grow out of it

They are both brothers and about 5/6 month old they have been together since birth really so I hope it’s just a phase haha

Your boys are currently at the stage of their puberty when the testosterone is at an all time high.
You may find our very detailed guide with lots of tips for teenage boar bonds in crisis helpful; including what you can do to keep the bond going as much as possible and judging when a bond is clearly dysfunctional.
