Well, I have been wanting to do it for ages so wish me luck that the weather stays good. I am going to give the girlies hutch a massive clean today. I am waiting for the weather to warm up so the piggies can go out in their run for a while. I am going to scrub the girls hutch from top to bottom inside and out and leave it to dry out in the sun. I do give their hutch a very good clean every Friday and spot clean daily BUT it really does need a really good scrub. So, here come the rubber gloves and hot soapy water. Also, because I'll be taking the hutch out of the out house to leave it out to dry, I shall be giving the out house a damn good clean as well. Wish me luck :) xx

Good luck, but I hope the weather with you is better than here. No sunshine, and we've already had some rain. We were going out to pick strawberries, but not in the damp.

Anyway, you'll feel so very satisfied when it's all done.

Good luck! It needs that! I also give mine a spray with an insecticidal spray from my vets afterwards to make sure there is nothing nestig in there that should...

I have scrubbed the hutch and it is now nearly dry. I have swept out all the mess (shavings and hay) that was stuck in all the nooks and crannies of the out house. Just got to fill with clean bedding now. The next time we have a warm day, the girlies themselves will be having a bath :)

Hope its going well :) I have just done both of my C&C's and extended one of them too which meant measuring out new correx etc so my back is killing me (doesnt help that I'm 35 weeks pregnant though!). Weather is ok here, its warm but not sunny so piggies are out in their runs but coming in soon :)

Piggies are now back in their nice clean hutch just before it started to rain. A few weeks ago, OH had a ramp made for them at work that leads on top of their sleeping area to give them extra space. Eliza worked it out straight away but Eleanor couldn't work it out. Well, she has finally worked it out and is now going up and down the ramp :)

I always feel impressed with myself after I've done a big cage cleanout. Especially it's one where you scrub the living daylights out of the flooring and even get beneath the cage and in my case disinfect the grids and the connectors. Makes me feel very cage proud :)
