Adult Guinea Pig
I first saw you for sale with your sister Coco back in 2020, I adore texels and really wanted to buy you..I agonised over purchasing from a breeder given that I prefer to rescue but by the time I decided I wanted you both, you had been sold to someone else. I saw you both posted on Facebook by your new owner asking for name suggestions.. imagine my suprise when, about 6 months later when the world had been turned upside down, I saw your face again in the adoption page, your new owner had got overwhelmed caring for you as you were both so scared and nervous with their cat and dog constantly watching you.
I couldn't let you slip by again, you were both still so small, stunted and terrified.
Unfortunately we lost your sister due to a heart defect at just a year old
you were like a ticking time bomb, I never expected to be able to love you for this long, especially when, almost a year ago you had to be spayed where we discovered you had a clotting disorder. Blood was found in your abdomen, and everything was bruising as soon as it was touched. In spite of that your surgery went well and in spite of a little abscess you healed well.
You have been a beautiful, quiet and friendly little lady for the 4 years we had you. Never a moments bother, interested in whatever I was doing, all of the time. Just last night you were stealing used syringes out of the meds tray and making a right mess! Running off with them
I gave you a scratch on the head and said goodnight.
I never thought for a second it would be the last time I would see you, I went in this morning to find you had passed, you had some hay in your mouth so it was at least quick, either in your sleep or mid chew. I suppose sudden heart failure like your sister.
I wish there was something we could have done so you could see old age, but I am grateful you did not suffer and passed quickly surrounded by your friends. Sleep well little Biscuit
