Should I be worried about this?
Popeye just basically had a bit of a sneezing fit & sneezed 8 times. Not completely in a row, but with like a gap of a minute between each one.
Which was annoying because every time I asked his Daddy to come in and witness it he stopped making me look like an over- baring Mummy!

He's had the occasional sneeze before (which I'm sure you know by now I've panicked about previously!) but nothing like that, not that many times, not in a day let alone in a row.

His weight is fine, eating fine (so far, thank God), I've listened to his breathing and can't hear wheezing or popping or anything like that, also he doesn't have sawdust only hay in his cage.

Does anyone else have piggy's that suffer from the occasional sneezing fit?

Mine have done this on the odd occasion but with no other symptoms. I kept a close eye on it but it didn't continue for long. I put it down to maybe a bit of hay up the nose or something. They also used to sneeze quite a lot at lap time till I changed to a less perfumed fabric softener

It could be dust up his nose from the hay or bedding, keep an eye on it and if any more symptoms develop then go to the vets just to be sure.

My skinny Katie tends to sneeze like that sometimes.

Cool thanks for the replys. It's reassured me a bit now.
When I went to bed I remembered that I had washed my hands earlier with a soap that had quite a strong smell, I think the smell might have been on my hands still when I picked him up for a cuddle. So hopefully it might have been that.

P.s I LOVE skinny piggys, they are so cute. They look like a cross between a miniature rhinoceros, but without the horns and and old man with the little tufts of fur on their noses.

(Sorry I have no idea how I've managed to post 2 messages. I was still typing! Trying to get used to using a mac at the moment, and I'm a bit like Bambi on ice when it comes to this.)

My piggies did this so I changed them from sawdust to fleece and put hay in there litter corner things. They stopped for a long time but now one is sneezing which later led to wheezing. Took him the vets and he had a respiratory infection and is on antibiotics. So would just monitor him and check his breathing now and again. Hope this helps x
