When a guinea pig squeaks whilst trying to / or going for a wee, does it automatically assume that they have a bladder infection, also if there is a bladder infection, will there be crystals in the urine? Also, when a guinea pig squeaks when going to the toilet, can it be anything else other than an infection or stones?

Normally I would say it was definitely a sign of a UTI. However a while ago Blossom was squeaking when she she peed and after checking her over thoroughly, my vet felt pretty sure it wasn't a UTI. However her skin wasn't looking too good so he treated her for mites. At the time I thought how on earth is this going to solve the problem, but by next day the squeaking stopped and her skin generally started to improve. I am presuming that because her skin was sore, she was squeaking when urine came into contact with it.

Its just that I noticed Connie squeaking and cocking her bum up earlier but her and Eliza had througher examinations on Friday and had their urine tested. There was no blood in the urine and when it was spinned down, there are no crystals. Now I know that Connie is going to have on going problems, I am watching her like a hawk. I think I'm going crazy
