Oppps I meant that the Vet wants to keep him in the vets for two to three days after the operation to keep a close eye on him. Thanks so much for all your thought and well wishes.
Thank you everyone for your well wishes, unfortunately Bubba didnt make it and passed away during a second operation to remove the stone when the vet couldn't find the stone in his bladder during the first op. He passed away on Christmas Eve and will be missed a hell of a lot. Thanks again.
Aww so sorry to hear your sad news about Bubba, you did everything you could though. How are you all coping with your loss? Run free over rainbow bridge Bubba 8...8...8...8...
Hi. I'm not coping very well. I'm very shocked about the whole thing. We left him in the hands of the vet and they his first operation took two hours and they couldn't find the stone. They monitored him for a day and a half: feeding him and injection him with fulids. He wasn't producing any urine at all and they had to go back in and they found the stone near the kidneys and they just were about to remove it and he died. Planning to have a good long chat with the vet as i think the first operation took too long.
I'm so sorry that you are having to go through this after losing Bubba I don't want to upset you but I really can not understand why it took them so long to find the stone. I thought that the hole point of having an x ray was to locate the stone before having to operate. When we thought that my Connie may have to have this operation (which thankfully she didn't) the vet took me through the process stage by stage via a book. He said that if a stone was found through the x ray, the operation would be carried out the same day and if everything went well, we could take her home the next day at the latest. I think it will do you good to have a talk to your vet as you do not seem satisfied and it will only play on your mind. Do not blame yourself though. Sending hugs xx
