I currently have Jeff and Cameo insured. The reason I insured Cameo was incase she got anything like ovarian cysts or other issues - she's since been spayed. I got Jeff insured at the same time, because I felt guilty (he's my favourite, but shhh!).

Since Cameo has been spayed, I don't think I reallly need to have her insured any more. If I cancel the policy halfway through, I'll have to pay a cancellation fee. I'm about 6 months through...

I'm wondering if I call them, and tell them that I don't have the pigs any more? But I have 2 new ones (obviously when I get the Daves a wife each), and can I swap the policy over to cover them? I'm not spaying another sow again!

Anyone know if this would work? :...

I'm pretty sure that would fall under insurance fraud if you tell them you don't have the pigs that are currently insured. You might be able to get the plan switched over however.

This isn't really to do with what you asked,

But i read some article a while ago that said that sometimes it can work out better, creating an account at your bank and putting the money you would pay towards insurance into that account as theres alot of things that insurance companies don't cover etc.

Just thought i'd let you know as it's what I'm planning on doing instead of insurance (:

Amanda if you are with exotic you will not be charged if your pig "passes away " or you "no longer have them because you are moving house " - i speak from very recent experience here - (but dont tell anyone ) lol

I have them insured as I've experienced how quickly vets bills can rack up. Cameo cost me £2000 over the space of 3 weeks. I'm a student, I work 13 hours a week, I run a house, car and pay for the animals on my pitiful wage. I have no spare cash to my name. It would have taken me 2 years of saving at £20 a week to pay cameos bill.

Currently my £16 direct debit goes out monthly, I can just about afford that!
