Hello - found this forum very helpful in past so come back on seeking advice.
10 days ago my 4 year old male Blizzard had a wet bottom and smelly urine. Attended at Vet - prescribed pain/anti-flamatory relief and co-trimoxazole. Seemed to do the job - dry bottom and smell disappeared. However went from 1.5kg to 1.35kg in 10 days. Eating, drinking, pooing, playing as usual. No concerning interactions with friend, Tornado.

Tonight came home from work and blood on lower body. Sat him on lap and appeared to pee blood with urine in it - red wee. Also one clot of blood on penis area.
He has taken critical care feed - gulped it down, eaten his tea - veggies - and sitting eating hay. Should mention I gave him pain relief.

Plan to call vet at 8am tomorrow morning.
Any ideas what is going on? What should I expect/ask of vet tomorrow.
Thanking you all in advance.

Hi and welcome back. Good that you are planning to see a vet. This needs a check of the bladder/urinary tract to see whether you are more likely dealing with either a bacterial or sterile infection or a stone/sludge problem.

Keeping my fingers crossed for Blizzard.

Update - attended vets. Vet thinking either 'stubborn UTI' or proceed with further investigations - check of the bladder/urinary tract - ultra sound and sample from bladder. Blizzard continues to eat, drink run around as normal. Weighed at vets on a more accurate weighing equipment and has only lost 50g since last consultation 10 days ago.
Vet thought he was uncomfortable and not in pain. Decided to go for middle ground and continue on meds for a further week and if no improvement go for further investigations. However on thinking about this am I only delaying the inevitable and should go ahead and book for ultrasound. On a positive note there has been no further obvious blood in urine - vet thought it could be a 'blip' in stubborn UTI.

Any thoughts/ views? Thank you in advance.

Quick question - been reading a lot about cystease and it's benefits on this forum. One capsule a day - how do you administer it - with water or sprinkled over food? TIA
