Hi all,
My piggy Harvey has been through the wars over the last year. He's had a breast cancer lump removed as well as an abcess on his neck. He appeared to have another lump recently on his balls so I took him to the vets expecting it to be cancer again. In addition, he had smelt really bad over the last month despite checking his bum and giving him a bath.
To my surprise it turns out it was a huge lump of hard smegma that had got stuck underneath his foreskin. I'm talking the size of a big marble. The vets got it out and he came home ok, just quite swollen. He went back a few days later and the swelling had gone down so they were able to remove the last lump about the size of a thumbnail. After a thorough wash of his penis and foreskin I was told to check him in 4 days time or so to see if he was keeping himself clean. I don't know if he struggles to reach the area after still having a few mini lumps on his neck after the abcess (these are pea sized but aren't growing) or if the scar where his nipple used to be makes it hard for him to bend.
I have since removed two more hard lumps in the space of a week about the same size and had to clean him up.
My question is, has anyone every experienced this before? It sounds like he's struggling to clean himself so this could be a permanent job. He's not old, only 4 and has a healthy diet of nuggets, fresh hay and veggies. He also has a lovely cage mate called Jeffrey!
If this is going to be a regular clean every 3/4 days, would it make a difference if I neutured him? E.g. Would he produce less erm... boy Jizz? Obviously he doesn't like being cleaned so I don't want him see me as the horrible human rather than the veggie feeder! Any suggestions or advice would be helpful! Thanks!
