Fluffball
Junior Guinea Pig
Floss is about 6 and a bit years old now, so she's getting on a bit.
A few weeks ago, we noticed blood around her genital area, so we took her to the vets straight away. The vet suspected that it could be an ovarian cyst, but she gave us 10 days worth of Baytril in case it was an infection of any sorts. For the past few weeks we've been monitoring Floss, and she has been a lot more sociable, even putting on some weight which was wonderful, and the blood seemed to have gone.
However, found her today with dried blood on the top of her front right foot, on her nose and even on her ears.
Checked the other girls she's with for any cuts and scrapes, but they're all completely fine and Floss has a lovely tame nature anyway.
Checked her bottom, and there was blood there, apparent when wiped with a tissue. Took inside for a clean up, and she's definitely looking a lot more dishevelled than usual. Her appetite seems to be fading again, as she wasn't too keen on even eating some apples, only having a few bites.
She did a poop too, which I've attached; she'll definitely be in for another vet checkup asap, but wanted to see if anyone else has had a similar case with any of their piggies? If it wasn't for the poo, I would've thought the vet was right about the ovarian cyst, but coupled with some raspy breathing, I think there are a couple of things going on..
If it is a cyst, I'm guessing it's very unlikely we'll be able to do much about it as I doubt she'll be able to make it through the anaesthetic
